Julien Le Roy, a Paris, France, mans quarter repeating pocket watch, key wind and set gilt plate movement with verge escapement in a silver, reeded edge, engine turned, open face case with maker's details engraved on gilt cuvette and Arabic numeral, white enamel dial, gilt spade and poker hands, serial #13320, 55mm, c1820.
CONDITION:
CASE: Numerous small dents; Waves, back; Scratches on outer surface of case; Engine turning worn smooth; Back cover extends beyond 90 degrees when opened; Back cover with soft solder repair, incorrectly oriented; Cuvette with minor scratches; Cuvette with crudely scratched name of a former owner; Minor scratches on crystal; Back and band with splits and small areas worn through; Pendant worn through at top. DIAL: Crack in enamel, 9:00; Chips in enamel near center arbor; Scratches minor to dial; Repaired chip, 8:00. HANDS: Fair, minute with verdigris. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Bright work has minor oxidation, scratches; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks). COMPLICATION FUNCTION: Functions properly, high gong with repair and poor tone.
